Goop

Goop (trademarked by Eclectic Products) is a modern glue product to replace older rubber cement compounds. It is primarily composed of tetrachloro ethylene in a petroleum derivative medium. It reacts with polystyrene (i.e. styrofoam), but seems to deal well with most other polymers. Goop forms a semi-flexible waterproof bond when it cures. This makes it useful for adhering flexible substrates which would be problematic with more rigid bonding agents.

Using Goop

Goop should be applied directly from the tube; it's a one-part glue and requires no mixing. Having a small piece of cardboard to help spread the glue can be useful. If spread thinly, Goop can actually be used as a laminate.

Goop is thick and viscous. It can be useful for forming large glue joints or buildup. The difference between many varieties of Goop (Crafter's, Original, and Household) is simply the viscosity of the mixture.

Warning!

Noxious fumes and odor. Use in a well-ventilated area.
